seventh blog
The purpose of this clip is to treat others how you would like to be treated. When one is not respectful to the other, no one feels the need to respect the other ones space. On the other hand, when a person is respectful of ones space, people tend to follow and do the same.

hotel rwanda and the book A long way gone
The ending of the book A Long Way Gone was not what I had expected. It left me with many questions unanswered. I can not help but wonder if Ishmael's auntie, cousins and Mohamed made it alive or not. It does not even give you details on how he got to the U.S. It just leaves you hanging. At least in the film Hotel Rwanda, there was an ending to the story. There was some closure because Paul's family and the civilians got saved in the end.
Audience for along way gone.
The audience for the book A Long Way Gone is for the more mature crowd, not for children under 13. I would say that the audience was Invoked not an Addressed audience. Every time I stopped shooting my magazines and saw my two young lifeless friends, I angrily pointed my gun into the swamp and killed more people (Beah 119). The war memories had formed a barrier that had to break in order to think about any moment in my life before the war (Beah 149). People like the lieutenant, whom I had obeyed and trusted, had made me question trusting anyone, especially adults ( Beah 153). It makes you aware of the pain and distrust that he might had felt at the time. When gun shots started in the city of free town, Ishmael and Mohamed looked at each other with the look that said, " not again" (202). This makes you feel upset for him especially because of what he had already gone through. This book persuades the audience to feel a certain way. It is almost like you had endured the pain yourself. The purpose of these examples in the book is to get you moved enough to help in the cause, and make you aware of what is going on in some countries.

Not a Big Fan of Semi Trucks
Semi trucks need to drive more carefully. Most of those drivers are so reckless. This week one semi drove past me and blew dust in my eye. My eye was irritated for two days! That semi was speeding fast down the street to catch the green light, which was turning yellow. Semi's also cut me off sometimes when I'm driving. This makes me not a big fan of semi trucks.
Music
Music plays an important role in my life, it is a stress reliever for me. When I'm tired, stressed or just want to relax, I listen to music. Music makes me happy and stress free. Some of the songs I like right now are, Mr. Know it All, The one that got away, all back, love the way you lie, It will Rain, and more. These are the types of songs I listen too when I want to relax. There are many other types of music that I listen to, it just depends how I want to feel. If I listening to other types of music might change how I feel that moment, but it probably would not change who I am.

Rwanda
Past history: Belgians were given control of Rwanda after the war in 1923. They started to seperate the people by giving them resident cards which put them into three groups: Hutus, Tutsis, and Twas. Hutus were those who cultivated the land, Tutsis owned cows, and Twas were hunters. The civil war began in 1990 between 5000-10000 rebel Tutsi.
Present time: a new constitution was adopted in Rwanda in 1995 but the country still struggles from the effects of the 1994 war. Rwandans eat bananas, legumes, sweet potatoes, maize, cassava and potatoes. Over 90% of the people are of Christian religion. Life expectancy for Rwandans do not go over the age of 60.Percentage of population living below $1.25 a day is 77%

Fashion foward
Communities play a big role in the formulation or our identities. Take fashion for example, the community might find one thing fashionable but another thing not. In a community as a whole, we would probably wear what was fashionable instead of what was out of fashion. On the other hand, as an individual, we might decide to wear what we liked no matter what other people in the community thought of our outfit. The conflict in this situation would be that some might think that you are unfashionable and not a follower of the community, but I say, be who you want to be, fashion forward or not.
